Self-imposed comics rehab, day 24

I almost forgot to post today.

I woke up at 7:00 AM and got right to writing… er… brainstorming. I went through some old documents containing started-but-never-finished stories, took what I liked, and added them to my brainstorming sheet.

There are three projects I’d like to do. One is the slice-of-life story I mentioned the other day, one is a re-launch of my strip, Omnipotent Me (for which I have some fun ideas), and one is a hybrid children’s book/graphic novella.

The strip I could do using my rehab schedule, provided I don’t get a day job that will disrupt that schedule. The other two I think would be simple and straightforward enough to reacquaint myself with the responsibility of doing a graphic novel. The only problem is, besides scheduling, is choosing. I like the slice-of-life one because it’s dark and I can draw some somber things. I like the children’s story because it’s a fantasy, which means much escapism for me.

I don’t want to commit to anything right now, not at least until I finish the next week of rehab.

One thing I do know, however, is that once I pick a graphic novel project to do, I want to continue the habit of documenting my progress on this website. I find that it’s a good motivator and keeps things in motion; no progress, no documentation, right?
