Qiè Shùfù (切 束缚) – “Cut The Bind”, by Phillip Ginn

An original concept for the September 2023 group exhibition entitled “Rosebuds and Razorblades”, curated by Christie Shinn of Horatora Studios (creator of “Demon Bitch”). The 22×15 painting uses Chinese, Western, and feminine elements as metaphor to convey pain, oppression, progress, freedom, and beauty.

August 2023. Ink, watercolor, gouache, and acrylic gouache on 22×15 300lb Moulin du Roy cold press watercolor paper. Printed on 11×17 Red River Aurora Natural White 64lb fine art paper using Canon ChromaLife100+ long-lasting dye inks.
