Self-imposed comics rehab, day 2

Before I get to today’s report, I want to point out that the inspiration behind my self-imposed rehab was this very site: Comic Artist Rehab.

I got to the drawing board today and looked at my doodles from yesterday. I actually wasn’t repulsed by what I’d seen, which was very odd; yesterday, I was disgusted. I’d doodled a pair of lips in a close-up shot and sketches of a guy sitting. So, I figured, if I wasn’t repulsed, maybe I’ll finish it.

So I did.

It’s not the best thing ever, but it’s not horrible, either. It’s just a short, 4-panel comic with a little something in the background. I’m not sure if everyone will get it, but I know what it means and, more importantly, the pencils are done. And even better, I actually had a little bit of fun today. Honestly, not a whole lot of fun, because getting the rust out is more like work than fun, but I could feel the determination to finish and that was kind of fun in and of itself.

I’ll letter and ink it tomorrow morning and see how that turns out. In the meantime, here are the pencils:
